Travel Secrets of French city “Paris”

Updated: Mar 3, 2020

Paris..Paris…Paris…Paris it’s one of my much loved destinations in the entire world and a city that would take a lifetime to see. I’ve been to the city more times than I remember yet I’ve lots to get down the surface and discover different landmarks within the city.

Most travelers flying from different parts of the world plan a trip for three days; they visit must-visit attractions, snap some interesting photos and keep moving on. If you have few more bucks and couple more days off, I think you should plan to spend 5-6 days as City of Lights has more interesting things to offer.

At the end of this post, read our recommendations of the very best things to do in Paris. If you have limited time in the city, this will help you narrow down this huge list of sights from your bucket list.

“Why Paris? Paris needs no reason.”

While you have a number of easy options for transport into central Paris, my best bet on EuroStar train if you are traveling from London or any where from Europe. If you plan to fly into the city there are 2 airports that you can choose from Charles de Gaulle (referred as CDG), which is located 23kms from northeast of the city. The fastest and cheapest route into central Paris is by RER train but the disadvantage is you will then have to make your way from a train or Metro station to your final destination. If you are traveling light, reasonably fit and want the experience then it is a good choice. The Roissy bus is a good option if your hotel is in or near the 'Opera' district of the city as this where you disembark.

Other airport is Orly, which is located 14km south of central Paris airport where you may find some cheaper flights but odd itineraries. It has two terminal buildings West and South, which are linked by a complimentary shuttle train service. Before the construction of Charles de Gaulle Airport it had been Paris's main international airport.

There are few more options by which you can land into City by Ferry and by Drive. Both of these options are going to work cheaper for you if you plan on a budget trip. In fact my first trip to Paris was by Ferry from Dover, London to Calais, Paris.

Planning a trip to Paris is little complicated. Just when you think you’ve seen everything but city has lots to offer with new attractions, new restaurants and new markets to explore. There are in fact different layers and zones to the city – which is also a reason why I love it so much.

That being said, I will be sharing few interesting topics that will cover interesting sightseeing spots, how to plan your trip more budget friendly and mistakes you should try to avoid during your planning and travel.

Stay tuned for more interesting blogs that are on my way….
